'There is talk of bringing vaccines in EU stockpiles'
Kathmandu, May 23: Minister
for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi has said that a letter has been
formally sent to the vaccine-producing countries to bring the vaccine to Nepal. Speaking
at a virtual press briefing program organized at the Ministry, Minister
Tripathi informed me about this.
He also said that there was talk of
bringing vaccines in stock to the European Union, adding that the Norwegian government was positive about it. He said that the ministry is taking
diplomatic initiatives with China, the USA, India, UK, Russia, and other countries
for vaccination.
He said that the Government of
Nepal and the Ministry of Health have been working hard to provide services to
the patients in the health of the Nepali people. He said that the ministry
has taken the suggestion of experts to create a health crisis in Nepal in a
positive way.
He also said that the new corona virus seen recently is more deadly than the previous one. Minister Tripathi informed that the ministry has estimated that the corona infection will continue for some time and the rate of corona infection will decrease after one month.
